ABOUT US
Atomic Pom is the Metro-Detroit Competitive Collegiate Pom Team that was established in 2009. We are a team made up of members from several colleges and universities from the Metro-Detroit area. Unified by the passion to perform and pom, we also share a passion for our Detroit sports and the wonderful city!
Atomic Pom has competed in the Mid American Pompon competitions since 2010. Atomic has been MAPP State Champions in the years of 2011, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2019, 2020, and 2022. We have been runner-ups in the years 2010, 2012, and 2018. In the MAPP High Kick Competitions Atomic has placed first in 2014, 2015, 2018, 2019 and 2021 while being runner-ups in the years 2009, 2011, 2012, 2016, and 2017. Atomic Pom placed 1st in the MAPP Virtual Pom Competition in 2021.
Our program not only is affiliated with the sport of pompon, but hip hop as well. Atomic has competed in Michigan’s UDA Collegiate Hip Hop Competition in 2012 and took 1st place. In 2018, Atomic competed in World’s Hip-Hop International Competition and placed 9th in the USA division.

TEAM MEMBERS
Among numerous tryout candidates, Atomic Pom Team members are selected based on their outstanding pompon skills, superior showmanship, charismatic and friendly personalities. Our members are dedicated athletes that influence the pompon community across all age groups and team divisions. Atomic Pom has the privilege to represent not only the many schools our team members belong to, but to Michigan’s favorite city, Detroit! Our team members are dedicated to giving back to our local communities as much as possible, and participate in various philanthropy events throughout each season.

Many Atomic team members and alumni play an important part in the pompon community. Many of them not only compete(d) on Atomic Pom, but coach other middle school, junior varsity, and varsity pompon teams, cheer and dance teams! We are always #AtomicPomProud of our team members and their influence to the pompon community!
